Quilting Methods

Edge to Edge                                          $3.75 per sq ft
  • Quilting is sewn in rows across the quilt from edge to edge until the quilt is fully quilted.

Custom                                                   not available
  • This is where one or more different styles of quilting are used to complete the quilt. These include stitch in the ditch, background fills, crosshatching, feathers, borders, motifs, echoing. Price will vary depending on the complexity of the design.

Basting                                                                 POA
  • For the hand quilting enthusiast, your quilt can be machine basted with an intermittent stitch (approx. 1” apart) and a horizontal grid of approximately 4” apart.

Adding Binding                                                      POA
  • This service is available on request. You will need to supply a continuous strip so it can be readily attached to the edge of the quilt.  The binding can then be hand sewn down by you.

Wadding
I can supply wadding and carry the following:
  • Matilda’s Own Wool (100%) wadding                  $30 per metre
  • Matilda’s Own Cotton (100%) wadding               $24 per metre



Moda Fabrics
I carry a limited range of fat quarters, charm packs, etc.  Please check out my shop on Etsy (www.etsy.com/quiltsonthecoast). 


Backing Fabric
I carry a limited range of backing fabrics which are 100% cotton. Colour, quality and width will vary but are competitive with other quilt shops and details are available on request.


Threads
I only use quality threads for your quilting in colours that tone with your quilt. Wherever possible the same colour will be used in both top and bottom threads.
Brands include Rasant and Aurifil.  Your thread requirements will be discussed during consultation.
