I should be finishing a quilt, but if I don't get this done, I would have to change the title wouldn't I?!!

I promised more photos of customer quilts, but first here are a couple of little projects I have just completed. The first is a small cot quilt made from minky fabric.  The texture in the fabrics and the silky feel as you run your hand over the quilt is very soothing.  Love the new owl in my garden too!! The second is Baby Splendour - made from the leftovers of the larger quilt.  I think this would brighten up any Baby's room, don't you.  Both of these quilts are available on my Etsy shop, or by sending me an email.

Lynda has been very productive again and I have quilted two lovely baby quilts for her.  Don't you love the way she has incorporated the border fabric into the backing.  Looks great.

The other one was made from the leftovers of a larger quilt and looks very cheery.

I also resurrected some of my older quilts.  These will be going up on the Etsy site.  They were made a few years ago and quilted on my previous machine, so no fancy quilting, just overall meander.

The first is called Monkey Around and is made from flannel fabrics.  Does the pattern look familiar.  You can probably tell that Lynda and I quilt together, although she gets the prize for being more productive.

The second is called Road to Happiness and is based on the quilt pattern Road to London.  The last one is Awesome Windmills because the fabric used was Awesome by Sandy Gervais for Moda. Not very original, but it's hard work thinking up names for these quilts.

Well, now I really must go and finish that quilt - no more procrastinating.  Have a great day and happy quilting.

News for May

Well, I really did think I had already started this blog and was in front, but it must have been wishful thinking.  I hadn't even posted the April post, so . . . .  I will have to try again to get on top of this.

So I promised some photos of my quilts next, so here we go.  Firstly another Accuquilt class at the Quilting Patch in Nowra saw me with lots of parallelograms cut from Kaffe Fasset and Amy Butler fabrics.  The Kaffe Fasset gems had been purchased on our travels around Australia a couple of years ago, and they came from Geraldton.  I love the bright vibrant colours in these fabrics.  The resultant quilt took some time to put together (because I agonised over where to put each piece), but I believe is quite stunning. Hope you agree.

Recently I purchased some Charm Square packs - I have Whitewashed Cottage (Three Sisters), Aloha Girl (Figtree) and Block Party (Sandy Gervais).  They are available for just $15 each, plus postage. I still have some available and if you would like any, they are available from my Etsy shop, or you can email me and I will send a PayPal invoice.
I also have some Daysail (Bonnie & Camille) fat quarters.  There are 6 fat quarters for just $25, plus postage.
And having those gorgeous Charm Packs available, I would have to use them to make a quilt now, wouldn't I?!  This quilt is called Block Party - because it's made using Block Party charms (not very original am I!!).
Lynda has been busy again, so next time I will have some more of her lovely quilts to show you. I have also dragged out some very old quilts that had been partly hand quilted - I intend to finish them on the machine, so that they can at last be used. One is my original hand pieced sampler quilt - I had to wash it first to get the dust out of it.  That should make for some interesting quilting (I hope).

Until next time - happy quilting.

Well, don't know that I have really been all that adventurous, but I have been quite busy and have even managed to complete some interesting projects.

Lynda has again been very productive, so I have had some great quilting to do for her.  While there are pictures in my Customer Quilt Gallery, I thought I would share them here too.  The first is completed in Whitewashed Cottage and quilted with an Orange Peel quilting pattern. The backing is absolutely gorgeous and also from the Whitewashed Cottage range.

Next was a baby quilt with a great backing in an Aboriginal print. Doesn't it look lovely with those soft yellow prints.  One lucky baby.

And lastly was a really cute quilt using a gorgeous Mickie and Minnie print and backing.  Even the quilting had a mouse theme.

Might leave my quilts for the next post.  That way I will have no excuse to not write some more.

Happy sewing everyone.
