Well another six months has flown by and I have been very very remiss in not recording what I have been doing. It has been a very busy time.
First and foremost of course, my newest grandson was born in February. Needless to say I have spent quite a few weeks visiting and helping out where possible. He was a healthy 3600 g plus (8 lb) and 56 cm (22") long. He certainly seemed to be all arms and legs. First photo is 3 days old, the second one is 4 months.

He has grown a lot (as they all do) and filled out quite a bit too. So far he is a very happy fellow and quite the "chatterbox". Missing him as I write this, so must be time for another visit.
You might think that with this distraction I haven't been doing much quilting, but that is definitely not the case. Lots has been happening, but I will try to spread it out over time.
First up of course, is the quilt that I made when this little fellow was born. I was visiting Quilt Essentials in Newcastle and just fell in love with the fabric from Moda's Darling Little Dickens range.

Sometimes you just see a pattern or fabric and it "speaks to you". This was certainly the case when I saw Cottonways Summer Nights pattern. I knew it would be just the thing to team up the Figtree Black and White Dots and Black Tie Affair. I was thrilled to pieces with this finish. As someone said - it is a very elegant quilt.

Another long awaited finish was this Snippets quilt (another Cottonway pattern) made from a huge range of Figtree fabrics. The piecing was started in February 2016 and the finished blocks had sat in the cupboard just waiting to be sewn together. This was a project commenced with my stitching partner Lynda and she finished her quilt top, thus encouraging me to complete mine.
This is another quilt I am thrilled to pieces with.
Love too the Overlapping Crop Circles quilting. I even had enough squares left over to make a smaller version (lap size).
My customers have been busy too, but I will have to save their efforts for another time.
Happy quilting.
