After our sewing day on Saturday, it was off to the Modern Quilt Show in Kiama. It was a great day and so many gorgeous quilts. Here are just a couple of photos - just the ones that took my fancy.
There were certainly many more quilts that were just gorgeous, but I couldn't take photos of them all.
While rummaging through my chest of stored quilts, I came across a couple of really old quilts. I am going to share one with you today. The quilt top was made at a workshop at Country Patchwork - probably around mid 1990's. It was for my daughter's room in our new home. I even started hand quilting it with a web design in the large green squares and butterflies in the top of the baskets. When I pulled it out I found that all the large squares had been quilted, but not all the butterflies, so I removed the butterflies and put the quilt onto the machine. It still has butterflies in the baskets, but they are now much more intricate. The green triangles have a lovely pattern in them and the border is all swirls.

I am so pleased that it is finished. I even still had the binding for the quilt. Unfortunately it was about 20" short, but I was able to save the day and only I know that the binding is not as thick as it should be!! I wonder if my daughter will want the quilt - after I wash it of course.
The other one is still very much a work in progress, but there will be photos to come.
Now I am going to get another post done before the end of the month - just to show that I can do more than one a month!!
Happy quilting everyone.
